I drove into the cold
White knuckled, blind and bold
Shining white and gold
The colours in my soul
How I wound up here
Was I a souvenir?
We lost our landing gear
We circled in the cold
Until we disappeared,
like missing mountaineers
into the atmosphere
To where we'll never know
In purgatory cove, I wait
I keep a secret here
A secret so severe
I sing on your radio
My signal comes and goes
I sleep in the maple leaves
I hide in the gentle breeze
I blend into the trees
I scare the animals away
How did it come to this?
A forbidden kiss?
White and gold
somewhere in my soul
I sing in the choir here
And I just disappear
And I don't sing too loud
And I just blend into the crowd
As a lifelong fan of psyche, I was delighted to have found this, stunned that I'd missed them for three decades and devastated by the news of Dallas' passing. Makes many of the album's lyrics even more poignant. I hear echoes of the Chocolate Watch Band, Long Ryders and both the pop and country sides of the Byrds. Stunning, and a contender for my album of the year. Iain H
Normally a concept rock album about dogs shouldn't work. It couldn't possibly work.
This one does.
Brilliant writing, beautiful music. Matt's emotion and feelings shine through on tracks like Talking to the Sky and I Wanna Be Your Dog.
I mean, it is about dogs, right? Isn't it? Or is it... rob.cee
I feel like a dork for just now (May 2021) stumbling on this alternate version of GOODBYE Blue Monday. If it's half as good as the original, it'll still be twice as good as most of the other music out there. sandymanthemusicfan
