Go on and let someone love you
Go on and open your heart
Rise to the sunrise with wide open bright eyes
Love 'em till it breaks your heart
I saw you walking on a cold road, a cold road, alone
You were haulin up a big load, like a sinking stone
Did he take from you the wide eyed girl I used to know
I saw you walking on a cold road, with no way home
I saw you sleeping by a cold road, Your fire burned low,
I saw you dreaming in the dream showed you all alone,
Did you go hide from all the wild eyed boys that flash their gold?
I saw you sleeping by a cold road, with no one to hold
And in the morning light, your maps will dry
And if your tears they cry, at least you tried
At least you tried
They cried
As a lifelong fan of psyche, I was delighted to have found this, stunned that I'd missed them for three decades and devastated by the news of Dallas' passing. Makes many of the album's lyrics even more poignant. I hear echoes of the Chocolate Watch Band, Long Ryders and both the pop and country sides of the Byrds. Stunning, and a contender for my album of the year. Iain H
Normally a concept rock album about dogs shouldn't work. It couldn't possibly work.
This one does.
Brilliant writing, beautiful music. Matt's emotion and feelings shine through on tracks like Talking to the Sky and I Wanna Be Your Dog.
I mean, it is about dogs, right? Isn't it? Or is it... rob.cee
I feel like a dork for just now (May 2021) stumbling on this alternate version of GOODBYE Blue Monday. If it's half as good as the original, it'll still be twice as good as most of the other music out there. sandymanthemusicfan
